To the Brewery!
Hello, weekend! What better way to kick back than going to a beer festival?
This weekend is the summer Harpoon festival at their brewery. We actually have been to a festival here before, but it never made it to the blog (J’s phone pics). We went for Saint Patrick’s Day back in March. It’s such a big drinking weekend, so a festival makes total sense.
With the price of admission, you get to tour the brewery, and hear about how the beer is processed.
It’s a really, really large building. The festival is out back in tents (rain or shine.)
There were performers, a few bands and a group of bag-pipers, adorned in all kind of authentic garb. There were also a lot of people wearing chicken hats. I didn’t get it.
They had a good selection of beers, some new, some old favorites. I quickly decided to stick with the hard apple cider, because it was light enough for multiple refills… and yummy.
With a purchase of tickets for ~$5 each, you can drink your heart out. No one in the crowd was got very obscene though, so good times were had. Vendors outside sold plenty of noshes to keep everyone satiated for the length of the event (~6 hours.)
Wonder what the HarpoonFest will have in store for us this time?!Happy Friday to all, and to all a good night!
