Best Ever Brownies
I am not kidding when I call these Best Ever Brownies. Sure, they might not be the best brownies in the world… who has tried every brownie in the world? But they definitely are the best brownies I’ve ever had.
I’ll just give you the recipe and shut up.
Best Ever Brownies
- 1/2 c flour
- 1/3 c cocoa powder
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp coffee grounds
- dash of salt
- 1/3 c milk
- 1/3 c semisweet chocolate chips
- 1/3 c white sugar
- 1/3 c brown sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 5 tbs butter, melted
- 2 eggs
Sift together dry ingredients in a medium bowl. Melt chocolate chips into milk over a double boiler. Melt butter in a separate bowl. Allow both to cool for a few minutes so they don’t cook the eggs in the batter. Combine sugar and eggs in the bowl of an electric mixer. Add in melted butter, mix well. Then, incorporate in the dry ingredients slowly at a low speed. As a last step, fold in the melted chocolate.
Pour the chocolate brownie batter into a baking dish. I used a 9″ x 9″ pan, coated with spray oil.
These brownies can go right into the oven at 350ºF for 15-20 minutes. But, before you do that, consider some of these add-ins.
Swirl:
- 1/2 c nut butter
- 1/2 c pumpkin puree
- 1/3 c cream cheese, room temp.
- 1/3 c goat cheese, room temp.
Goodies:
- 1/3 c chopped nuts
- 1/3 c chocolate chips
- 1/3 c butterscotch chips
- 1/3 c mini marshmallows
- 1/4 c peppermint
I went with a swirl of sunflower butter and a scoop of butterscotch chips. I cannot get enough of this combo!
I just dropped the SSB into the pan, then swirled it with a toothpick and sprinkled on the chips. Of course they sank to the bottom of the pan as it baked, but the as long as they are in there, I’m okay.
I let it cool in the pan for another 20 minutes before cutting into the brownies.
Moist? Yes. Chocolaty? Yes. Irresistible? Yes.
No exaggeration, they are really the best brownies ever.
I baked them last night and this is what the pan looked like in the fridge this morning:
Savages, we are utter savages. Who needs plates or portion control, anyway?
Please try this recipe, it’s for your own good!
