I hope your weekend is off to a peaceful start! My stomach is always growling for breakfast on Saturday mornings. If we aren’t at our favorite diner, I like to make something other than my everyday oatmeal on the weekend.

If you feel like mixing up your Saturday morning, try one of these new breakfast ideas:

Carrot Cake Scones – adapted from Tasty Kitchen

This was a recipe I refused to let go, even though I failed miserably the first time. The scones have all the flavors of a delicious carrot cake, with a bright citrus note to remind you it’s breakfast.

Cinna-Oat Rolls - good for brunch because the dough needs to rise

I changed up the traditional cinnamon raisin roll and added butterscotch and chocolate chips for this special morning treat!

Boston Cream Pie Pancakes – as good as they sound!

This recipe is something I dreamt up, with complete certainty it would be a star. I love the surprise of vanilla pudding hidden inside the stack of pancakes.

Strawberry Stuffed French Toastvia Annie’s Eats

I made this recipe for Valentine’s Day, because it is decadent and special just like the holiday. Challah bread make the best french toast!

What are you eating this morning?

I always threaten to make french toast on the weekends- one of these days I’ll actually up and do it!

I want to live in a house where making french toast is considered a ‘threat!’ What do you do when you get really mad? Frost cakes? :)
