History enthusiasts: this one is for you!

Justin booked our stay over the long weekend at Lamie’s Inn. Originally constructed in 1740, Lamie’s Inn and The Old Salt restaurant are a landmark in the town of Hampton.

A hotel/restaurant combination is great because you can count on decent-to-delicious food.

I’ll tell you more about our dining experience at the Old Salt in another post, but you can check out their breakfast spread here.

We enjoyed colonial charm of the building and the historic photographs and decor throughout.

History buffs would enjoy every moment of their stay here. I know Eisenhower did in 1963,  as well as his family members over the years.

Our room had all the necessary amenities, plus a mini fridge and microwave! This came in handy for our picnic-planning.

We had the sense that we were the youngest people staying in the hotel, but enjoyed it nonetheless. I prefer peace and quiet just like the retired couples on vacation with us.

There were checker boards set up for some romantic gameplay. I actually thought this was an awesome idea for a small hotel to set up.

We would recommend this hotel for anyone headed to the Hampton Beach area. We decided to stay off the actual beach to avoid all the chaos associated with the holiday weekend (and trust me, there was chaos!)

Lamie’s is just 2 miles from the beach, a quick drive or bike ride away. Plus, they are situated close to the grocery and pharmacy and bank. There are a handful of good restaurants within walking distance, and an airport if you need a quick getaway from your getaway.

Overall, we loved our stay at Lamie’s Inn through and through!
