As a Top Chef and fine dining enthusiast, it is a thrill to eat at one of the competitor’s restaurants, especially when it is owned by Eric Ripert!

Jennifer Carroll is the badass chef from Season 6 who took no prisoners when fighting her way to the top. Unfortunately, she didn’t win her season but she won over my heart!

When I realized that she works in Philly, I knew we had to make a point to visit her restaurant, 10 Arts by Eric Ripert, So, that’s how we wound up eating dinner in the lobby of the Ritz Carlton.

There is no shortage of atmosphere here. I loved the cool, modern lighting features and swanky lounge furniture.

The menu: amazing. From what our waiter said, the special and chef’s tasting menu come from Jen’s whims each and every day. We couldn’t believe the detail and thought that went into each dish.

For an appetizer, we ordered the charcuterie plate.

Salami, pepperoni, prosciutto, chorizo, and a pork and cherry terrine (my favorite part), paired with grain mustard, chicken liver + duck fat, and mostado.

We topped each little crostini with care, leaving only a small amount of chicken liver + duck fat behind. (Let’s be real, tastes good but concept is nasty.)

For the main course: Justin ordered the steak with heirloom tomatoes. I had the fried buttermilk chicken with collard greens and truffle-foie jus. Sinful!

The food in review: fabulous. My first bite of chicken sent a warm, homey feeling through my entire body. We were instantly satisfied with our meals, leaving barely a crumb behind. I wish we had saved room for dessert because there is a very talented pastry chef employed here as well. Monica Glass is the third leg to this 10 Arts tripod, because no meal is truly complete without dessert. Justin’s dish was also worthy of a WOW! I tried my best to sneak the tomatoes off his plate and into my belly.

I would highly recommend this restaurant for a fancy night out, and to anyone who loves Top Chef as much as I do!
