Today’s food feature is something I have never had: food from a food truck. I know the popularity of food trucks is not news, but I haven’t experienced it yet.

Justin ordered lunch from the Grilled Cheese Nation truck near his office building this week. The food truck program is on a test run there, but hopefully it sticks around. He has been wishing for options beyond Uno’s takeout lately.

J was kind enough to take pictures of his lunch to share, which proves that food blogging is contagious.

Here’s what he had:

The Swiss Family Boston – baby Swiss with smoked ham with apricot jalapeno jam on Iggy’s bread. The meal came with tomato soup and chips. He reported back that the soup was surprisingly good and he felt very satisfied.

In Boston, there is a good variety of food trucks offering everything from bánh mì to breakfast sandwiches and beyond. Click over to Bridget’s post to read about her lunchtime food truck experiences.

I did a little research on the most popular trucks around Boston:

Roxy’s – gourmet grilled cheese – @roxysgrilledchz

Clover Food Lab – breakfast/lunch – @cloverHUB

Bon Me – Vietnamese grub – @bonme

The Cupcakory – cupcakes! – @cupcakory

And here’s a food truck schedule c/o the City of Boston, not sure how accurate it is though!

Have you ordered a meal off a food truck? Did you like it? What kinds of trucks are in your neck of the woods?
