It’s an OXO giveaway! Hooray!
[This giveaway has closed. Congratulations to Kathy S for winning! Thanks to all who entered!]
The folks at OXO created a Healthy Eating Tools campaign to showcase utensils and kitchenware that make healthy eating easier to accomplish. This three-piece peeler set is especially handy, because fresh produce often requires peeling. Each peeler serves a specific purpose, leaving no stone(fruit) unpeeled.
Best part of all – I have one peeler set to give away. If you are interested in winning a three-piece peeler set from OXO, scroll to the bottom of this post for entry details.
Here is what you could win:
The red peeler is for soft flesh: tomatoes, peaches, nectarines, plums.
The green peeler is for firm flesh: carrots, cucumbers, celery, potatoes. Both the red and green peeler have a potato eye-remover built in.
The orange peeler creates a julienne effect. Use this on firm vegetables and fruits to create lots of thin shreds.
I was most excited to try out the julienne peeler. With little effort, I shredded a couple carrots into a thin pieces shown below – no bulky food processor to clean up afterward.
You could also use the julienne peeler on cucumbers, apples, radishes, and potatoes. Imagine in the summer heat how easy it will be to slice up veggies for salad, barely breaking a sweat. Next, I will try it on potatoes. I think the julienne cut will be perfect for hashbrowns.
With these three peelers, I can manage practically any produce that enters my kitchen. When I first opted into the OXO’s Healthy Eating Tools campaign, I had my heart set on reviewing the three-piece peeler set. In my mind, the original Good Grips peeler is the trademark OXO product. Everyone knows how well it works. Having three peelers of comparable design is like a full culinary arsenal.
