Here is a blog post that’s been on my draft list for 5 months. I feel remorseful that I didn’t hit publish when I originally wrote the post, but better late than never. I feel like I can’t really start blogging about San Francisco food while I still have Boston food posts in the queue. [...]
Here are some carrots.
See? I eat vegetables. I also eat bread, meat, and cheese from time to time. I buy lettuce and it doesn’t always wilt to death in the crisper. But, you wouldn’t know that by looking at my blog lately. All I see is sugar, chocolate, or
When it seems like I have nothing to make for dinner, I can at least count on having the ingredients for this tuna & pasta dish.
I learned the recipe in college from one of my friends. She said it is an Ethiopian recipe, but as I’ve prepared it over the years, I’m sure it [...]
You may not know that I have past experience working as a pizza cook. Back in high school, I worked at Bertucci’s as carry-out staff, a hostess, and eventually moved to back-of-house.
I was in charge of portioning out baggies of cheese, frozen chicken, and scallops in the morning. When customers [...]
Take a nice, long look at this view because it will be another 12 months before I’m back here.
We went to the beach this morning to enjoy one last day of sun. Singing Beach in Manchester-by-the-Sea was our destination. It is north of the city, and we unknowingly headed straight [...]
Welcome, salad I haven’t made before. Come into my life and help me survive another day without baked ziti. The idea for Niçoise salad came to mind, as a cool meal to top off a hot day. Salad is all I felt like eating in the heat, but who can eat the same [...]
We celebrated the third anniversary of our first date today. For all intensive purposes, we call this day our anniversary, because we’ve been together ever since. I’ve matured so much, in fact, that instead of spending almost $100 on a fancy dinner out for this occasion, I decided to do it all for free at home.
I made a simple but delicious menu that wouldn’t require much heat in the kitchen (it’s still way too hot.)
Shish kebabs, does anyone even call them that anymore? We grilled shish kebabs in the summer all the time growing up, usually some combination of veggies and chicken or shrimp.
I think the name is more complicated than what it really is… food on sticks.
Although I don’t have a grill, I [...]
I can remember the day in elementary school when I first had a tuna melt. I was over a friend’s house and her dad offered to make us some. Tunafish + cheese? Melted? Who are these people?
Now, I know what the fuss was all about. These things are delicious! Here’s a recipe [...]
We arrived for dinner at BlackSalt with hungry bellies.
Our friend in D.C. is close with the executive chef at this restaurant, so we knew we were in for a great time. We started with delicious fancy cocktails from the bar.
Look at the white chocolate skull they topped [...]
